The memorial is situated on the same place, on which in the year 1902 Guiseppe Zenardelli was standing. The president of Italy spent a few days of his holidays in Sorrent - in the "Hotel Tramontano". He did not show any reaction, when his friend and major of Sorrent, Signor Tramontano, asked him to take care of a new post office in Sorrent. Bcause of that, the two brothers di Curtis composed in the hotel during only one hour the song "Torna a Surriento" - come back to Sorrent! On this place, people heard it for the first time. Zenardelli was fascinated! 6 months later, Sorrent got its post office and di Curtis today got his memorial. The little local political song became one of the greatest romantic tenor songs.
